Five bird flu suspects were detected, and one of them was confirmed positively infected with the type-A avian influenza virus, in Malang district, East Java, in the January-August period in 2008, a local health official said.

Vice President Jusuf Kalla said the government was guaranteeing the supply of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in 3-kg containers to meet the people`s need after the recent increase in the prices of LPG in 12-kg and 50-kg containers to Rp69,000 and Rp362,750 from Rp63,000 to Rp343,900 respectively.
